Michael Eldridge is a painter and photographer originally from London, now residing in the Marche.

Eldridge's artistic research leads to a refined pictorial synthesis that combines landscape painting with the demands of a fully expressionist-abstract aesthetic in perfect symbiosis.

Nature is, in fact, Eldridge's starting point, or rather it is what surrounds him and inspires him: the Marche countryside from the Sibillini mountains to the Adriatic Sea, passing through the placid curves of the hills and the colors of the vineyards and fields cultivated.

This precious material is reworked by the artist's creativity in a powerful synthesis that sees color and the pictorial gesture as the absolute protagonists.

Eldridge arrives at a compendium of the Marche landscape in which the (naturalistic) form gives way to a spiritual transposition of reality which is realized in the energetically symbolic scope of the chromatic composition.

We also recognize the gaze of the photographer, in this passage, which filters everything he sees in a game of balances of light and structure.

And that is exactly what happens in Michael Eldridge's paintings: the beauty of the landscape is transcended in the harmony of a composition with objective aesthetic values.

Michael Eldridge's intention is exactly to create, in his works, an expressionist language that communicates to the user, through objective elements of color and structure, the full sensory experience of the landscape.
